An utility for Smart batteries and EEPROM memories

Version: 1.4 / demo / 757K / 12/1/2007 - we no longer provide support for this software

AccPlus is an utility designed to communicate with a Smart Battery or a serial memory device via the PC parallel port and a Philips Standard I2C Parallel Port Adapter. It is a must have tool for repairing and reconditioning laptop batteries. You can view the Smart Battery data provides through SMBus and change the EEPROM memory content to its initial values. With a few more wires added to the Philips adapter, you can read / write all the serial memories found in the battery's controllers.

EEPROM reset add-on

This add-on allows you to change a few important memory locations of   the EEPROMs used in smart batteries, so you can reset them to the factory default values. This version supports many memory/controller pairs, found in the regular battery packs of the Dell, IBM, or Compaq portable computers.

Supported chipsets:

 - 24C01 / PIC16C63

 - S29L220 / M37516

 - 24C01 / 02 / BQ2060

 - 24C01/ 02 / BQ2040

 - S29L220 / M37515

 - 6480AF/M / M37516

 - PS401 / PS402

 - 24C01 / BQ8011

The downloadable version comes with all schematics needed to manufacture the interface and connect it to SMBus and serial memories. If you buy this utility, you'll can use all its functions and, more than that, you'll receive a detailed page with a lot of battery pinouts and how to interconnect them with Philips interface, advices and tricks to fix and use Smart Batteries. The Philips adapter can be easily manufactured, and requires one single integrated circuit 74LS05, nine resistors of 10k, one of 300ohms, a parallel DB25 male connector, a small LED, a 100nF capacitor and memory sockets.
